REPRESENTATION

A Local President, Treasurer, Secretary, Five (5) Vice Presidents , Five (5) Business Agents off the job, Two full-time Union Assistance persons, working for the members.
Twenty-seven (27) Chief Stewards and over Two-hundred (200) Stewards working for the members.
A CWA International Staff Representative whose responsibilities include chairing Step III grievances and recommending cases to the CWA District 1 office for arbitration as well as assistint the Local with Contract Negotiations.

MEMBERSHIP

Approximately 5,300 members (strength in numbers, we make our problem everybody’s problem). 

CWA Local 1298 has bargained contracts with at&t, Cingular – Connecticut, Massachusetts & Rhode Island, Computer Sciences Corporation, SBC TeleCom & SBC Yellow Pages, and Unite HERE Alliance.

MEETINGS

We hold a minimum of two (2) annual Membership Meetings (scheduled quarterly across the State), as well as individual membership meetings for Cingular- Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Computer Sciences Corporation.
We regularly schedule internal meetings with Chief Stewards & Stewards (as needed). We also hold informal open house meetings throughout the state with the membership, in order to allow the members a place to meet with each other as well as their elected officials and discuss issues that are important to them and their families.
