CT Jobs with Justice
CWA Local 1298 is leading the way in the formation of a CT Jobs with Justice. A JwJ committee has been formed Our next meeting is on October 4, 2007 at 2pm in Hamden. The CT AFL CIO is supporting CT JwJ and we will have a table at the convention this month. If you would like to help staff it - please let us know.
Also on the JwJ Committee: CTCOSH, UE, UFCW, Lawyers Guild, Unite HERE, ALA Teamsters, IAM 354, CEO, AFSC, and more to come.
To date the CT JwJ has given support to CWA Local 1170 in their fight with Frontier Communications by providing food and drums for their protest in Stamford as well as helping the ALU/Teamsters in their struggle with Windsor based ADVO. The CT JwJ has also helped establish CT's first support drum corp - SMASH SOMETHING - This group of young activists are ready and willing to support workers in their struggles.
If you are interested in becoming involved in CT JwJ - or just in banging a drum for a good cause - give the local a call and ask for Organizing. »
