CWA MEMBERS RALLY IN SOLIDARITY AGAINST THE BLATANT ABUSE OF AT&T UTILIZATION OF CONTRACTORS!
CWA Local 1298 members joined in the spirit of solidarity to protest the mis-use of contractors by AT&T in Connecticut. CWA Local 1298 members should be AT&T's first choice in their effort to expand video competition for the Consumers of Connecticut. Just like AT&T wants to be the consumers first and only choice for video we the members of CWA Local 1298 want to be AT&T's first and only choice in helping them accomplish this feat. Let us send AT&T and the State of Connecticut a loud and clear message:
We will not tolerate contractors as a replacement for CWA Local 1298 workers. Just last year, AT&T and CWA joined forces to pass critical legislation to give consumers a choice for video services. AT&T has shown their appreciation by the consolidation and movement of call center work to other states and is using contractors instead of growing regular full time jobs.
CWA Local 1298 fully supports the expansion of AT&T’s network with the expectation of job growth, not continued downsizing and contracting to make greater profits. »
