Hello, this is Jason Riccio, Business Agent for Customer Information Services. Over the past 16 months I have been working diligently to file and sit grievance after grievance. There have been more grievances filed and sat over the past year in our Department than there have been grievances filed in over 5 years. I want to continue to file more grievances.  These grievances bring our issues to the attention of this company, and their Labor Department.

We have had some successes over the past year or so, such as compliance warnings being overturned, a terminated employee getting offered their job back, members getting suspensions overturned and receiving back pay, as well as some payments under the storm policy. All because the member stepped up to the plate and filed a grievance!

Again, I would like to urge all of us to continue to file grievances and get more involved in helping our offices run the way they are supposed to run.

Here is a quick outline of the grievance process:

  1. Discipline meeting with Manager, Steward, Member
  2. Informational with Manager, Steward, Member
  3. Step 1 with Manager, Area Manager, Chief Steward, Member (optional)
  4. Step 2 with Area Manager, Representative from Labor, Business Agent/ VP, Chief Steward, Member(optional)
  5. Step 3 Dept. VP, Area Manager, Rep. From Labor, Business Agent/VP, Staff Rep., Chief Steward (optional), Member (optional)

We need actual grievances in order to pursue any problems for you the member.

Don't forget there is STRENGTH in numbers.
