The delegates of the 2006 CWA Convention voted YES for the establishment of the SIF (Strategic Industry Fund).  The intent is to finance large-scale campaigns based on changing employers’ anti-union, anti-worker behavior and to increase our bargaining power.

-  We need to try new strategies, take a few bold risks

-  We need to stop doing the same old things - the world is changing

We must remain committed to developing strategies with goals that will strengthen our bargaining power both internally and externally.  Last year CWA Telecom Vice-Presidents developed an "umbrella" SIF proposal which will help  to coordinate and fund current and future SIF projects geared toward achieving our goals.
