Universal Health Care
The purpose of SIF/HC is to create a political movement to help elect a Democratic President and a filibuster proof (60 Senator) Senate. There are two phases to this program: Phase 1:

The passage of EFCA will help to restore the power of unions. Workers will decide through a simplified election process whether they want to be represented collectively. EFCA also adds teeth to the laws for violations of the rights provided through this legislation. Mediation and arbitration will be available for first contract disputes. Healthcare has not been working for workers, retirees or employers. The intent of Healthcare reform is to remove the issue from the bargaining table. This will increase our ability to negotiate a wage increase commensurate with the high cost of living. There are five reform principles put forth by the CWA:
