A Message from President Dave Weidlich

The CT Paid Family Medical Leave Act is an incredible program that allows workers to take care of themselves or a family member when they get sick, bond with a newborn child, care for a family member injured in the line of duty, and more.

But there's a problem.

Some employers are reducing other benefits like short-term disability when a worker uses paid family medical leave (PFML). Or forcing them to use one benefit before another, effectively preventing them from certain job protections provided under the law.

Click here to urge House Speaker Matt Ritter & House Majority Leader Jason Rojas to support SB 1179, which will fix these issues!

The State Senate has already passed this fix with bipartisan support.

But there are less than two weeks left before the end of the session. We need to make sure House leadership understands this is a priority to pass before they adjourn.

Contact House leadership and urge them to support the fix to CT Paid Family Medical Leave!
