Date of Passing

Cayllie Andrea (Alicki) Lipford, 29 of Cheshire, formerly of Wallingford, beloved wife of Andrew Lipford Jr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at The Connecticut Hospice in Branford, following a valiant battle with cancer.

Cayllie was born in Bridgeport on October 1, 1992 and was raised in Wallingford. She attended Rock Hill Elementary, DAG, and Lyman Hall High School. Then, she graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a B.S. in Communication Disorders. Inspired by her grandfather battling cancer, she went on to achieve her B.S. in Nursing from The University of Connecticut. Even after she learned of her diagnosis, she continued to pursue her career goals. While working at Yale as a Registered Nurse, she went on to work towards her APRN at Quinnipiac University while simultaneously battling her illness.

Cayllie had a contagiously cheerful energy, and could make someone laugh even on their worst day. She had the most beautiful smile that could light up your soul. Cayllie was the funniest and most animated person in the room and never missed a chance to entertain the people around her. She loved to travel, be surrounded by her friends, eat amazing food, and felt especially at home by the ocean. She was fiercely loyal to her loved ones. She will always be remembered by her fighting spirit.

In addition to her husband Andrew, she is survived by her parents Barbara (Hammer) Ruys and Eric Ruys, her sister Natalie and brother Griffin of Wallingford, as well as James Alicki and family. She will also be missed by her grandmother Andrea (Mrs. William) Hammer, her in-laws, as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

Cayllie’s family will receive relatives and friends in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main. St. Ext., Wallingford, on Wednesday, March 16th, from 3-6pm. A funeral service will begin at 6pm inside the funeral home. A livestream of the service will be available on her online obituary page at www.wallingfordfh.com. Interment will be private at In Memoriam Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to: St. Baldrick's Foundation (https://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/1094338/2022).
