The Union resumed bargaining this week with Frontier Communications. We do understand that it can be frustrating reading the bargaining reports because there’s not a lot of detail being shared. You can be assured that the bargaining committee is committed and unwavering in achieving the best agreement possible with Frontier Communications. Wages, contract duration, the use of contractors, as well as some departmental issues remain unresolved. On Wednesday, the company presented a proposal that moves in the right direction but falls short of where we need to be to reach a complete agreement. We reviewed the proposal on Thursday and today we presented a counter proposal that addresses the needs of our members. We expect the company to respond next week. While there has been some progress, there is still much more to do. We will be back at the bargaining table next week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
